About Me

I am the Project Manager in the Tweety Language Development Lab in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona, under the direction of Professor LouAnn Gerken.

I received my Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona in May 2018. My main research interest is developmental psycholinguistics with ancillary interests in bilingual first language acquisition, morphosyntactic development, child language disorders, majority-minority language contact, and poverty effects on language development and executive function, and more recently, pre-literacy and literacy skill development.

I am also the co-host of The Vocal Fries, a podcast about linguistic discrimination that (!) named one of the best podcasts about language.

I started the Scholars to Read in the Field of Language database.

Who is to say that robbing a people of its language is less violent than war?
